Can I connect my Acer Aspire 10.1 One netbook to my Tv's HDMI input, via VGA port? - hdmi input to vga

Hello, I just bought a HDMI to VGA, Im trying to connect my netbook on television, but this netbook does not recognize the TV (I had almost everything on) Who knows if this can be done? or if the VGA port has some limitations in this regard?.

I connected another monitor in the past successfully, I am sure that the VGA port is fine, but they can not see the TV. Thank you for any help!
